The Toronto Blue Jays traded for bullpen help on Friday, acquiring Drew Storen from the Washington Nationals in exchange for outfielder Ben Revere and a player to be named later.
Storen, 28, appeared in 58 games for the Nationals last season, recording 29 saves with a 3.44 ERA, adding 67 strikeouts in 55 innings. In 2014, the six-foot-one right-hander posted a 1.12 ERA, to lead all National League relievers. He has 95 career saves over his six seasons, with a career-high 43 in 2011.

Revere, 27, was acquired by the Blue Jays from the Phillies on July 31, posting a .319 average with Toronto in 56 games. The left-handed hitter added 31 stolen bases on the season, his fourth season with 30 or more.
Revere could assume the centre field and leadoff job that former Nationals player Denard Span held. Span joined San Francisco this week as a free agent.
Storen will be a free agent at the end of the 2016 season, and Revere can file for arbitration on Jan. 12.
