NHL playoffs: Overtime magic

The Stanley Cup playoffs feature their fair share of drama, and nothing is more dramatic than a win in overtime. Here's a look at the thrill of victory and agony of defeat from sudden-death action in 2016.

April 21: Blackhawks 4, Blues 3 (2OT)

Patrick Kane scored his first of the playoffs at 3:07 in double overtime to keep the Blackhawks' playoff hopes alive against the Blues in Game 5 of their first-round series.

April 18: Kings 2, Sharks 1

Tanner Pearson scored 3:47 into overtime and the Los Angeles Kings bounced back from a pair of series-opening losses at home to beat the San Jose Sharks in Game 3 of their first-round series.

April 17: Islanders 4, Panthers 3

With the series tied at one game apiece, Thomas Hickey scored 12:31 into the first overtime period to give the Islanders their first playoff win at the Barclays Center.

April 13: Blues 1, Blackhawks 0

With both Corey Crawford and Brian Elliott perfect through the opening 60 minutes, it took a deflection off the skate of a Blackhawks defender for Game 1 of the St. Louis-Chicago series to see its one and only goal:
