It would probably rank among the easiest of his 732 NHL goals.
Jaromir Jagr's power-play marker with 11.5 seconds left in the first period Sunday allowed his Florida Panthers to tie Vancouver 2-2 before the intermission.
It also vaulted the 43-year-old Czech forward past Hall of Famer Marcel Dionne for fourth place on the league's all-time list.
Jagr, left uncovered at the side of the Canucks crease in front of goaltender Ryan Miller, one-timed Aleksander Barkov's cross-ice pass under the crossbar for his 10th goal of the season.
"Every record looks like there's a big karma around it and it's tough to break," Jagr, who hadn't scored in his previous three games and sat out Tuesday's game against the New York Islanders with the flu, told reporters after tying Dionne.
Jagr, who added an assist later in Sunday's contest, is eight goals behind Brett Hull for third spot. Wayne Gretzky's 894 goals are most in NHL history, 93 more than Gordie Howe.
