There are around 400million Instagram users worldwide according to the site's management, meaning more than one in eight of them follow the reality star.
To put the true enormity of Kim's following into context, the population of the British isles is currently at 63million.
Kim, often dubbed 'queen of the selfie,' offers a look into her fashion and beauty regimes on Instagram.
But while updates on her lip liner, Christmas tree decorations and daughter North have an appeal to fans of her show Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Kim has attracted a following far larger than viewing figures would suggest.

After Facebook-owned Instagram itself that honour goes to Taylor Swift, with 59,200,000 and counting. And Selena Gomez also surpasses Kim, with jut under 57,000,000.
U.S. President Barack Obama has a more modest 5.6million followers.
And if anyone thought Kim's Instagram posts were easy, think again.
The 35-year-old has previously talked of how hard she works crafting them - telling fans about the work she put into crafting the perfect caption.
'I love to post photos on Instagram, but sometimes the caption struggle is so real, LOL!' she explained on her website KimKardashianWest.com last month.

Luckily, Kim has a group of friends and family she turns to for help, and each person has a special area of expertise when it comes to different topics or coming up with funny one-liners.
Best friend Jonathan Cheban is her go-to person for food photos, while sister Khloe Kardashian is the best for 'rachet' pictures.

For a while this was Instagram's most liked picture, before a snap of her little sister Kendall Jenner lying on the floor with her hair arranged into heart shapes took that honour this year with 3.3million likes.
Instagram has racked up more than 400 million global users as it turns five, with 75 percent coming from outside the United States, the company said in October.
The average time a user spends on the app is 21 minutes a day.
Kim and co are mostly popular with a younger audience, with 85 percent of each of their fanbases aged under 34, the audience coveted by advertisers which Instagram hopes to draw more of by the end of the year.
The top accounts also each reflect a 75 percent international fanbase - Grammy-winning Swift's second-biggest number of Instagram followers comes from Indonesia, Kardashian's in Britain, while Gomez's are in Brazil.
Swift's most-liked photos include one with her musician boyfriend Calvin Harris and another with flowers she received from rapper Kanye West, both garnering 2.5 million likes.
