Islanders strike back in Toronto
The New York Islanders outdid the Toronto Maple Leafs 6-3 in the second leg of a home-and-home series.
Toronto netminder Jonathan Bernier allowed six goals on 15 shots over two periods and was replaced in the final frame by James Reimer.
The Leafs pulled to within a goal in the second period, only to see the Islanders erupt for three scores in a row to put the game out of reach.
The Leafs defeated the Islanders 3-1 in New York on Sunday.
Streak ends for Flames
The Calgary Flames were edged 1-0 by the Anaheim Ducks and saw their franchise-record 11-game home winning streak come to an end in the process.
Shawn Horcoff scored the games' lone goal in the second period.
Struggles continue for Canadiens
The Montreal Canadiens fell 3-1 to the red-hot Florida Panthers and have now dropped seven of their last eight contests.
Meanwhile, the Panthers have strung together seven wins in a row.
Similar story for Senators
The Ottawa Senators were also finishing up the second end of a home-and-home set, losing 7-3 in Boston.
The Bruins poured it on with four goals in the final 20 minutes to run away with the victory.
On Sunday, the Senators got the better of the Bruins with a 3-1 win in Ottawa.
Jets get past Red Wings
The Winnipeg Jets were also in the business of chasing goalies in a 4-1 win over the Detroit Red Wings.
Jimmy Howard was replaced by Petr Mrazek after getting beat on four of the 14 shots he faced.
Kings down Oilers
After a quiet first period for both teams The Los Angeles Kings opened up a 4-1 lead in the second period and never looked back in beating the Edmonton Oilers 5-2.
