The Montreal Canadiens acquired goaltender Ben Scrivens from the Edmonton Oilers on Monday in return for forward Zack Kassian.

Scrivens, 29, has a 2-6-1 record in 10 games this season with the AHL's Bakersfield Condors, with a 3.47 goals against average and a .893 save percentage.

In 129 career regular season games in the NHL, Scrivens produced a 42-56-17 record with seven shutouts  The Spruce Grove, Alta. native maintained a 2.90 goals against average and a .905 save percentage for the Toronto Maple Leafs, Los Angeles Kings and Oilers.

The 24-year old Kassian registered one goal and 13 penalty minutes in five pre-season games with the Canadiens. The Windsor, Ont. native was acquired by the Canadiens from the Vancouver Canucks in return for Brandon Prust on July 1, 2015.
