Erik Guay top Canadian in 10th place

Norway's Aksel Lund Svindal won the first men's World Cup downhill of the season at Lake Louise on Saturday.
Svindal didn't race most of last season because of a torn Achilles' tendon.
He posted a winning time of one minute 47.29 seconds for his fifth career victory at the Alberta ski resort.
Italy's Peter Fill finished just a hundredth of a second behind the Norwegian for second.
Travis Ganong of the U.S. was third in 1:47.65.
Erik Guay of Mont-Tremblant, Que., was the top Canadian in 10th. Benjamin Thomsen of Invermere, B.C. was 21st, followed by Manny Osborne-Paradis, 30th, Tyler Werry, 36th, Jeffrey Frisch, 46th and Broderick Thompson, 58th.
The men will race a super-G on Sunday.
