Columbus Blue Jackets forward Brandon Dubinsky has been suspended for one game without pay for cross-checking Pittsburgh Penguins forward Sidney Crosby on Friday.
Dubinsky cross-checked the Penguins star in the back of the neck late in the second period and was assessed a minor penalty for it.
Crosby was slow getting to his skates and went to the locker room with 1:20 left. But he returned for the third period and played the rest of the game, saying afterwards that he felt fine.
"I'm OK," Crosby said Friday night. "There is always concern when that happens. Yeah, I'm good. Honestly, I didn't even see it so I don't know how it looked I just know how it felt."
The NHL Department of Player Safety announced Dubinsky's suspension Saturday afternoon.
Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement, Dubinsky will forfeit $31,451.61. The money goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.
