For fans of the Thin White Duke, it is a piece of art. For people born in the Eighties, it is a quintessential part of their child. And now, it seems, it is a hot commodity 30 years on.
The Hollywood Reporter has revealed David Bowie's iconic film Labyrinth is set to return to the big screen but not before it gets a 21st Century makeover.
The website claims those behind the 1986 classic - TriStar and The Jim Henson Co. - have struck a deal to do a reboot.

Just the thought of such a film will no doubt get many Labyrinth purists up in arms, but Entertainment Weekly claims the film will not see Bowie replaced but rather will be a sequel and not a remake.
Either way, the timing of the revelation comes as many are still in deep mourning following Bowie's death January 10 aged 69 from cancer.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Guardians Of The Galaxy co-writer Nicole Perlman has been cast with developing the script.
While the Guardians was a smash hit, the pressure is now on the writer as recently Hollywood has not had the best run at reimagined versions of Eighties classics.

Created and directed by the visionary Jim Henson - it was actually the last film he directed prior to his death - Labyrinth had George Lucas as an executive director and also starred a young Jennifer Connelly.
Jennifer played Sarah who, after being forced to babysit, wished her baby brother away and the besotted Goblin King Jareth was all too happy to oblige.
Sarah then journeys into a world of magical creatures where nothing is as it seems and a synth-tastic Bowie track is always around the next turn in the labyrinth.
