Ronda Rousey and Selena Gomez host SNL as UFC fighter plays backup dancer

Ronda Rousey was a knockout on Saturday Night Live by doing what she does best.

The UFC legend looked stunning in a figure-hugging black-and-white dress and heels as she hosted the legendary comedy show, then quickly used her martial arts background to lead the show.

Ronda started by making the opening monologue like rounds in a fight - even getting music guest Selena Gomez in to help her - then later also used her fighting skills in arguably her funniest skit.

She even showed her bravery just by being there - with the rest of New York on almost complete shutdown due to two-feet of snow from Winter Storm Jonas.

'They've closed Broadway, they've closed the movie theaters, they've even closed all the bars - so tonight we're literally the only show in town,' Ronda announced proudly.

And on a night where Tina Fey replayed her fan-favorite impression of Sarah Palin - as well as a skit poking fun at the lack of black nominations at the Oscars - Ronda also joked about how unusual it was for her to appear dressed so elegantly and at such a respectable show.

'I'm excited to be here because it's the first time I'll be live on television without getting punched in the face,' she smiled.

But she then addressed her recent devastating loss in the UFC, even taking time to praise her victor - albeit briefly.

'It's also the first time talking to my fans since I lost to Holly Holm in November, which by the way was a fight that Holly deserved to win,' she said.

'And I just want to take a minute to sincerely congratulate her.'

Ronda then raised her hands and clapped once - quickly stopping the audience by saying: 'That's enough!'

She also joked about how some people question whether her brutal sport would damage her mental abilities, saying: 'And all of those who are worried I'm not ready to host the show because I have, like, brain damage - relax. I'm good.'

Adding that 'everything I need is on the cue cards,' the camera cut to a crew member holding up a card saying: 'Your name is Ronda Rousey'

'But in all seriousness, I'm fine and tonight I'm ready to crush it,' she added.

The monologue then cut to two crew members pretending to be ringside announcers, saying she was 'off to a great start' in the opening round of her monologue, and adding: 'She's warm yet funny - I like her chances tonight.'

Kenan Thompson was then shown as Ronda's cornerman, prepping her for her next round and telling her to go for cheap, easy lines that get applause, as Cecily Strong appeared as a ring girl holding up a sign for 'round 2.'

But the plan backfired as Ronda joked: 'So what's up with this winter storm, huh? I haven't seen this many flakes since I joined Tinder.'

As the audience reacted unfavorably, the ringside announcers called it a 'rare misstep for Ronda' - leaving Ronda's cornerman to insist she needed a sure-thing, and calling out Kate McKinnon to do her much-loved impersonation of Justin Bieber.

As the audience went wild, Kate bobbed around Ronda, telling her: 'Hey girl, you're not the only one who's got quick moves - watch me.'

And her 'Justin' then challenged the fighter: 'Try and pop me - bet you can't pop me.'

As Ronda pretended to slap Justin's face, the singer was shown breaking into tears as he said: 'Ow, she hit me. And now I got a boo-boo girl.'

Then, for her final round, the band started up for a song and the rest of the crew came on to back up Ronda, with one of the announcers expressing surprise that the fighter could sing.

'I can't - Selena Gomez!' Ronda said, with the Selena then coming on, also in a black and white outfit and singing the opening of her hit song Come & Get It.

'Oh my God - Ronda Rousey has won the monologue!' the announcer said.

Selena would go on to appear as herself in one of the skits, and sing three more songs - including an almost x-rated performance where she sexily writhed with a male and female backing dancer on a black bed as she performed her hit Hands To Myself.

Selena, barefoot and in a black negligee, had first been joined by the male dancer, dressed in black pants and a black vest, before the female dancer came out and joined them, with them all touching each other while on the bed.

Earlier, she had worn a black evening dress as she was surrounded by a dozen seated backing singers, who sat down and clicked their fingers as she sang Good For You, soon moving into Same Old Love, shell mouthing 'thank you' as she got huge applause.

Selena then played herself in a skit poking fun at The Bachelor, with this show called 'Bland Man' and with the women all upstaging each other with their crazy behaviors.

Selena finally appeared, telling the Bland Man: 'I love being here for the 25th season of the show because I was conceived during the second season.'

'OK I'll go with her,' the Bland Man said excitedly. 'We can stop, I'm going to go with Selena Gomez.'

Ronda, meanwhile, used her UFC skills for her key sketch, where she played a high school girl being bullied by four mean girls after being tricked into thinking she was going on a date with the school hunk.

As the main bully, played by Vanessa Bayer, approached her calling her the 'weird new girl' and insisting she 'owns this school,' Ronda then quickly punched her in the face.

Undeterred, the bully approached again - insisting it 'din't really hurt' - just to get slapped across the face, leaving a large red hand mark, and punched again.

As she came back once again - knowing the bus was being streamed to all their friends on Periscope - Ronda then kicked her so that she fell into a stack of basketballs.

Her final attack on her as she came back for more was kneeing her in the stomach and banging her head on the table - then punching the boy who lured her there in the throat when he ran after her, clearly impressed by her fighting skills.

'One in 5 bullies will be a victim of Mixed Martial Arts,' he skit then claimed. 'Don't be a statistic.'

It then claimed to have been paid for by a group called BAMM - Bullies against Mixed Martial Arts.

Ronda also played one of two teachers on trial for having a threesome with a 16-year-old pupil played by Pete Davidson - who was clearly thrilled by the experience and gained the admiration of the excited judge, played by Kenan.

'I replay it in my head, like a movie, every day,' the student insisted, admitting that he told the story 'to anyone who would listen' who gave him nicknames like The Chosen One, King Of Everything, The Revenant, Three's Humpiny…

'And “My Man,” but the like the way Denzel Washington says it,' he said, with judge Kenan saying it as illustration.

While his mother sat upset in court, everyone else was impressed - including the boy's grandfather and father who he said were estranged but 'this event brought them back together.'

She also played a superhero called 'Metalia' who can bend metal with her mind, a worker who invites two nerdy colleagues to her house to watch a football game, and a woman in Victorian dress asking a council meeting for permission to have a carnival sideshow.

Wearing a red corset showing through high black lace dress and tiny black and red hat perched on her head, she got refused after telling the council meeting: 'My sideshow includes such human oddities as Todd the lost Baldwin brother. That's it.'

She also appeared in a bright red dress as one of three women in a club who got hit on by three guys who try to impress them by rapping about the size of their manhoods - with one, played by Beck Bennett, admitting that his was actually smell but promising 'I'll go down on you.'

After the girls push them away and walk off, Beck then approached a passing woman and told her: 'I've got a small penis but I'll go down on you.'

Ronda played a small role as an actor's girlfriend in arguably the most topical skit of the night, a dig at the lack of diversity at the Oscars.

Pretending to be the Screen Guild Awards, all of the nominees were white actors in movies that were clearly led by black stars.

Ronda played the girlfriend of the white star who played the coach of a black boxer - clearly based on Sylvester Stallone's character in Creed - while the black star himself was ignored.

But the nominations got increasingly ludicrous, including the white actor playing the part of a librarian in one scene in a movie 'about the first black Supreme Court Justice' - and the 'Unseen Voice On Phone' in a movie about 'discriminatory housing against African Americans in Chicago' who just says 'OK, I'll give 'em the message.'

The winner was then announced as 'a five-way tie - all of the white guys!'

In the Weekend Update, Michael Che once again referenced the terrible storm conditions, pointing out the subway were closed, cars were banned from the streets and the mayor had advised everyone to stay inside.

'The one guy ignoring these warnings - my boss,' Che said.

Leslie Jones then came on for a bizarre rant suggesting she saw herself finally getting to sleep with Leo DiCaprio.

'Hi Leo, I'm Leslie Jones, and I'm a funny b****,' she said.

'With her own place, a great job, and I understand most of your movies. And I'm crazy good in bed!

'I'll even make you a ham sandwich after sex. I'm talking about the ham you put in the oven with the pineapples. And while you're in the bathroom washing your junk off in the sink, I already be in the kitchen butt naked.'

She added: 'Leo you need a lady that will make you laugh… I'm the only woman who can give you a laugh-gasms' - giving wild laughs in the form of an orgasm as demonstration.

'And when I'm done with him his lips won't be the only thing chaffed that's for sure,' she said, with Colin Jost asking if she meant his manhood.

'Of course I'm talking about his penis!' she screamed.

'Call me Leo.'
