Jimmy Kimmel will host the Emmy Awards after winning praise in 2012

Jimmy Kimmel is set to host this year's Emmy Awards broadcast.

The news was announced by ABC on Monday morning with the late night talk show king saying, 'I have a feeling I'm going to be great.' This is not his first time hosting the Emmys - he served as MC in 2012 as well.

The show will take place on September 18 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

The Primetime Emmy Awards rotate through the four biggest TV networks - ABC, CBS, Fox and NBC each year, and Jimmy is presenting for ABC, just as he did last time he hosted.

Last year, Fox presented the show with Andy Samberg as host, while NBC chose Seth Meyers in 2014 and Neil Patrick Harris was CBS' presenter in 2013.

The nominations for this year's Primetime Emmy Awards will be announced on July 14.

And the ceremony's host is likely to be hoping for a nod as his Jimmy Kimmel Live late night show has previously earned five Emmy nominations in the Outstanding Variety Series Talk, Writing for a Variety Series, and Variety, Music or Comedy Series categories.

Will he take a long break from hosting? Neil Patrick Harris hosted the Emmys in 2013, but his Oscar hosting gig in 2015 was so heavily criticized that he may not serve as host for a while
