And now Chrissy Teigen has revealed to People that she hand-picked a female embryo during in vitro fertilization in order to ensure that she and husband John Legend would have a daughter.
'I've made this decision...Not only am I having a girl, I picked the girl from her little embryo. I picked her and was like, "Let's put in the girl,"' she explained of her thought process.

Chrissy Teigen is nailing her maternity look.

'It excited me to see...just the thought of seeing him with a little girl. I think he deserves a little girl. I think he deserves that bond,' she explained.
Chrissy added that a son 'will come along.'
'We'll get there too, so it’s not like we really have to pick,' she said.

The model added that, thanks to their pets, she already has an idea of how John will act as a father.
'Putty our bulldog was John's first dog ever...He never suspected he could love something like that ever, so it's so funny seeing him interact with them and knowing that's the way he's going to speak to our kid,' Chrissy explained.
Chrissy and John are expecting their little girl in April.

The model revealed to People that she was going through IVF treatment when she was modelling for the swimsuit edition of Sports Illustrated.
'I was doing IVF during the shoot,' she said. 'I was getting my shots and everything in Zanzibar, I had a little medical kit.'
While the couple revealed in October they were expanding their family, Chrissy discussed on the FABLife their long journey to eventually becoming parents.

'I will say honestly John and I were having trouble. We would have had kids five, six years ago if it happened,' said Chrissy.
'We've seen fertility doctors and once you open up about those things to other people you learn that a lot of other people in your life are seeing these people and they have this shame about it.'
Meanwhile, Chrissy has been hard at work promoting her new cookbook, Cravings.

The starlet expressed how appreciative she was at the turnout of the book signing for Cravings at Barnes & Noble on Tuesday.
