NBA announcer says Saskatchewan named for its sasquatches

An NBA broadcaster says Saskatchewan 'home to a lot of sasquatches,' and Saskatchewan's premier is calling him out on it.

The broadcasters were discussing how Utah Jazz Forward Trey Lyles was the first ever NBA player from Saskatchewan.

"Of course that region known for being home to a lot of sasquatches," said the first announcer.

"Saskatchewan?" asked the other announcer. "I don't think it is, really."

"That's what it's named after," replied the first.

Lyles, who is originally from Saskatoon, joined the NBA in 2015. He was drafted after his first season with the University of Kentucky.

Premier Brad Wall called out the American broadcaster on Twitter.

And others chimed in to say it was all good fun.
