Another honour for Canadian defender Kadeisha Buchanan.
The 20-year-old from Brampton, Ont., has been named to the inaugural FIFPro Women's World XI, as voted on by female players around the world. FIFPro is the global soccer players' association.
Buchanan is the youngest member of the all-star team which includes four members from the World Cup-winning U.S. national team. She is also the only college player.
Players of 33 different nationalities spread out over 20 countries participated in the FIFPro all-star vote.
"This is a landmark for the women's game," FIFPro general-secretary Theo van Seggelen said in a statement.
FIFPro created the first World XI for men in 2005.
It's the latest in a string of accolades for Buchanan since last summer's World Cup.
Buchanan was the lone Canadian named to the World Cup all-star team and won the tournament's Hyundai Young Player Award, for players born after Jan. 1, 1995.
She was also shortlisted for world female player of the year and was voted Canadian female player of the year. And the West Virginia University defender was one of three finalists for the MAC Hermann Award as the top NCAA women's player.
She helped the Mountaineers reach the Elite Eight of the College Cup.
Buchanan was even on a Canada Post stamp to mark the Women's World Cup.
Canadian coach John Herdman has been singing Buchanan's praises for some time.
"I'm not frightened to say it. She's the Sinclair of defenders," Herdman said in May 2014 after Buchanan corralled U.S. star striker Abby Wambach in a 1-1 draw in Winnipeg. "She's that good."
Buchanan made her national team debut in January 2013 and has become the defensive backbone of the team. Athletic and physical, she has made 47 appearances including 43 starts.
She played in 22 internationals in 2015 alone.
