Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Cinderella, Mad Men and Game Of Thrones are nominated for Costume Designer Guild Awards

Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens isn't just making a ton of money at box offices around the world.

It's also picking up nominations. In December it was included in the Film Critics list. And on Thursday it was handed a Costume Designer's Guild nod for the 18th annual show.

The sci-fi epic, which stars Daisy Ridley and John Boyega as well as vets Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher, was acknowledged in the Excellence In Fantasy Film category.

Also in the category is Cinderella (Sandy Powell), Ex Machina (Sammy Sheldon Differ), The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2 (Kurt and Bart) and Mad Max: Fury Road (Jenny Beavan).

The movies in the Excellence in Contemporary Film category are Beasts of No Nation (Jenny Eagan), Joy (Michael Wilkinson), Kingsman: The Secret Service (Arianne Phillips), The Martian (Janty Yates) and Youth (Carlo Poggioli).

In the TV category, Mad Men was nominated for Outstanding Period Television Series and Game Of Thrones got a nod for Outstanding Fantasy Television Series.

Winners of the seven competitive awards will be revealed February 23rd in a gala at the Beverly Hilton.
