Kyle Lowry 'loves y'all' after being voted into NBA All-Star Game

In epic come-from-behind fashion, Toronto Raptors point guard Kyle Lowry will be starting the NBA All-Star Game for the second year in a row after a last-minute surge of fan voting.

Trailing by more than 30,000 votes at the NBA's last update, Lowry shot to first place in the dying hours of the vote and finished by more than 60,000 votes over Cleveland's Kyrie Irving.

Lowry becomes just the third player in Raptors history to start in back-to-back all-star games and will get to play in front of a hometown crowd on Feb. 14 as Toronto is this year's host city.

Canadians coast-to-coast got behind Lowry and #WeTheNorth leading up to the announcement, including Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

Lowry responded quickly after the news broke, tweeting his thanks to the fans.

His all-star teammates were also quick to turn to social media to tweet their excitement. Lowry will be joined on the Eastern Conference squad by Dwyane Wade, LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony and Paul George.

Not to be left out, local politicians couldn't be happier to see the Raptors' favourite strut his stuff in the first all-star game north of the border.

And sending some cross-sport love was the Blue Jays' Marcus Stroman, because deep down we're all just reppin' The 6.

Raise a glass Raptors fans, you did it.
