Jets' Mark Scheifele out indefinitely with concussion

The Winnipeg Jets are recalling 22-year-old Adam Lowry from the Manitoba Moose, according to a press release issued on Sunday.

The news comes with the announcement that Mark Scheifele is on injured reserve with an upper-body injury.

The Jets tweeted that head coach Paul Maurice said Scheifele "sustained a concussion" on Dec. 26.

"This is not one he's coming back from until he's 100 per cent," the tweet quoted Maurice as saying.

Lowry has played 31 games with the Jets this season and registered eight points and 22 penalty minutes, the release says. Last season, he played 80 games with the Jets and registered 23 points.

The six-foot-five player was drafted by Winnipeg in the third round and 67th overall at the 2011 NHL Draft.
