Canadian linebacker Thomas Miles signed a contract extension through the 2017 season with the Toronto Argonauts on Thursday.
The Winnipeg native ranked fifth on the Argonauts in defensive tackles with a career-high 50 in 2015. He added five tackles for a loss and one sack.
Argos general manager Jim Barker said in a release that Miles has proven that he is capable of starting in the Canadian Football League.
"Thomas has been a solid contributor for us, making an impact on both defence and special teams since we drafted him in 2014," Barker said.
Toronto drafted Miles from the University of Manitoba with the 33rd overall selection at the 2014 CFL draft.
The Argonauts also signed offensive lineman Joe Circelli. The London, Ont., native appeared in two games for Toronto last season.
