NCIS star Michael Weatherly 'charged with two counts of DUI after being caught speeding at 1am'

NCIS star Michael Weatherly has been arrested for drink driving, according to reports.

The actor was stopped for speeding earlier this month at an unknown date at around 1am in Hollywood, according to TMZ. 

Officers suspected Weatherly had been drinking and ran tests, which showed that his blood alcohol level was well above the legal limit, the site reports.

Weatherly, ex-fiancé of Jessica Alba, spent 15 hours behind bars and has been charged with two counts of DUI.

He faces a maximum of six months in jail and up to $1,000 in fines if convicted.

However as this is Weatherly's first offence he is likely to receive a much more lenient sentence.

The actor was engaged to his Dark Angel co-star Jessica from 2001 to 2003.

After they split the 47-year-old went on to marry Bojana Jankovic, the mother of his two children.

He has starred as Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo on NCIS since 2003.
