Lil Boosie appeals for fans' support after being diagnosed with cancer

Lil Boosie has asked fans to 'pray for me' after being diagnosed with kidney cancer. 

The 33-year-old rapper revealed his condition to fans over Instagram on Wednesday. 

Posting an image of himself clad in a white sweatshirt and gold chain, the Louisana-born star captioned: 'I need all my fans to pray for me'.

He added: 'Doctor just told me I have cancer on my kidneys. Prayer is power that’s why I’m letting the world know prayfaboosie'.

The music star - who is also know as Boosie Badazz - is seen sitting in front of a breakfast table in the snap, with his head bowed forward and no eye-contact with the camera lens. 

According to TMZ he was asked to remove the caption by his management team, who were not happy that he suddenly revealed his diagnosis.

The Zoom star was nicknamed Boosie by his family, but his real name is Torrence Hatch. 

He has recently featured on Kylie Jenner's boyfriend Tyga's track Pleazer, which is on the Gold Album: 18th Dynasty, but didn't chart after being released as a single on June 12. 

Boosie was released from Louisiana State Penitentiary in March 2014 after serving five years on drug charges. 

He has been battling diabetes for years and suffered an unfortunate incident on stage in May when he fell ill after his medication went missing in transit. 

The Baton Rouge native grew up without a father after he was murdered while he was child. 

He is married to Walnita Decuir-Hatch, and has seven children - Iviona, Tarlaysia, Torrence Jr., Toriana, Lyric, Ivy Ray, and MJ Hatch.
