NHL playoffs: What you need to know for Saturday

The Stanley Cup playoffs are on. Each day, we'll keep you updated on the important news involving players, starting lineups, injuries and more. Check back throughout the day to stay in the know.

Three Game 5s are on tap for Saturday, beginning in Dallas (1 p.m. ET) as the Stars and Blues battle for a 3-2 edge. The Penguins are in Washington looking to halt the Capitals season (CBC, CBC Sports app, 7 p.m. ET), while the Predators and Sharks look to break their series deadlock (CBC, CBC Sports app, 10 p.m. ET).

Capital changes

The Washington Capitals shuffled their lines at practice on Friday as Evgeny Kuznetsov moved up to the top line with Alex Ovechkin and T.J. Oshie. That means centre Nicklas Backstrom is bumped down to the second line.

Justin Williams also practised on the third line on Friday.

Suffering Stars

Patrick Eaves (lower body) is questionable for today's matinee, while Tyler Seguin has been ruled out.
