This should be music to the ears of Edmonton Oilers fans.

Rookie Connor McDavid spoke with the media on Sunday and revealed that he has been cleared for contact.

Furthermore, McDavid said he is hoping to return to the lineup on Feb. 2. at home against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

In a video posted on the team's Twitter feed, the 19-year-old indicates the plan is for him to skate with the Bakersfield Condors, the Oilers AHL affiliate, during the NHL All-Star break. However, McDavid is not expected to see any game action with the minor-league club.

The Richmond Hill, Ont., native has been sidelined since suffering a broken collarbone on Nov. 3. In 13 games up to that point, McDavid registered five goals and seven assists, with the team posting a 5-8-0 record.

Edmonton currently sits last in the Pacific Division at 19-26-5, two points back of the Calgary Flames.
