Alaine Chartrand has captured her first Canadian figure skating title.
The 19-year-old from Prescott, Ont., scored 201.99 points to win the ladies title at the Canadian figure skating championships.
Chartrand was second behind Kaetlyn Osmond after Friday's short program, but laid down a spectacular long program to music from "Gone with the Wind" that included seven triple jumps.
Gabrielle Daleman of Newmarket, Ont., third after the short program, moved up to second with 197.99, beating Osmond by just 0.12 points.
The top two women at the national championships earned spots on Canada's team for the world championships in Boston in March.
Osmond, a two-time Canadian champion from Marystown, N.L., struggled through her program with several errors to finish third.
