Everyone has their personal bugbears when it comes to fellow air passengers – but there are some irritating traits that all travellers agree on.
Top of that list is body odour, according to research by flight search website Just the Flight.
A survey of 5,000 people found that the most hated person on a flight was the smelly person, with 59 per cent of respondents rounding on “poor levels of basic hygiene”.
Next on the list of the “21 passengers we hate in flights” was the seat kicker, bemoaned by 54 per cent of people, then parents “unwilling to acknowledge their children’s awful behaviour” in at third, with 53 per cent.
Highlighting the behaviour of inconsiderate travellers has long been as a passion of Instagram account Passenger Shaming, as we reported last year.
And some of the oft-spotted offenders on the social media photo-sharing site also make an appearance on the survey, with 12 per cent of people pouring scorn over fliers who take their socks off, 30 per cent calling out those who recline their seats and 24 per cent fed up with passengers who encroach on their own seat.
See the full list below. In the meantime, the Passenger Shaming account has been going from strength to strength, now boasting 337,000 followers.
Here are some of the recent highlights.
Your feet need a haircut, friend.
Make yourself at home, why don't you.
Who knew the window blind doubles as a sock dryer?
Where does the hair end and the seat begin?
Erm, sir? Your trousers...
