Adrenaline junkies were left stranded on a rollercoaster at Disneyland for around half an hour after one of the thrillseekers pulled out a selfie stick after the ride had set off.
Selfie sticks are banned at Disney’s theme parks out of safety concerns, so the California Screamin’ roller coaster was halted as soon as the device was spotted in the hands of a male rider.
A male passenger was trying to snap selfies or record video of himself on the ride, but wound up forcing the ride to close for two hours and angering other visitors.

The steel roller coaster is one of the attractions at Disney California Adventure, the second of two theme parks at Disneyland, billed as 'the happiest place on earth', in Anaheim, California.
A theme park employee stopped the rollercoaster as a precaution on Monday after noticing the selfie stick, said Disney spokeswoman Melissa Britt.
It took around 30 minutes to get the passengers safely off the ride, which was shut down for around two hours before it was reset.
Britt said the rider who pulled out the selfie stick 'left the park on their own after the attraction was evacuated'.
She added: 'We would take the selfie stick away as they are not permitted in our parks. But we stop the attraction because it could be a safety issue if it comes out of the guest’s hand.'

Selfie sticks were banned by Disney last June after a visitor pulled one out on the same roller coaster, forcing it to come to a halt.
Signs are posted around the park warning visitors about the ban.
Disneyland’s website has a page dedicated to park rules and it lists selfie sticks as a prohibited item along with alcohol, suitcases, toy guns and pets that aren’t approved service animals.
With a top height of 120ft and top speed of 55mph, California Screamin’ features thrilling drops, an inversion and a loop-the-loop that winds 360 degrees.
It opened in 2001 and is the eighth longest roller coaster in the world, with a little more than a mile of track.
