Canadian wrestler Haislan Garcia qualifies for Rio Olympics

Haislan Garcia had one final shot to book his ticket to the Rio Olympics, and he was golden.

The 33-year-old beat Bulgaria's Borislav Stefanov Novachkov in the 65kg freestyle final of the 2nd OG World Qualifying Tournament in Istanbul, Turkey on Sunday to secure his spot at the Summer Games.

Garcia, of Surrey, B.C., received congratulations via Twitter from Canadian wrestler, and 2008 Olympic gold medallist, Carol Huynh:

The Rio Games will be Garcia's third Olympic appearance, and he'll be looking to improve upon his best showing, placing 7th in London in 2012.
