This is the terrifying moment the cabins on a Ferris wheel swing 360 degrees over and over again after been hit by strong winds.

The attraction at Ako Seaside Park in Hyogo prefecture, Japan, is one of the tallest structures in the area.

So when the weather turned for the worse, there's was nothing to protect the Ferris wheel from the being pummeled by the gales.

Twitter user @Kaho_Takuya captured the shocking scenes and shared them on the social media site on May 3.

In the video, a small crowd has gathered at the base of the 164 feet tall Ferris wheel.

The attraction appears to have already been shut down as there was no one on board.

But two compartments at the top of the attraction can be seen swinging wildly like they're part of a roller coaster ride.

Just the top two cabins were affected by the strong winds. A crowd was also seen underneath the attraction watching them rotate in the air

This is not the first weather-related incident involving a Ferris wheel.

Just last week, MailOnline reported that a five-storey high Ferris wheel burst into flames in Bangkok during a thunderstorm.

The attraction was at a newly opened dinosaur theme park in the Thai capital.

Luckily, no one was on board at the time.
