Brazilian sex theme park set to open in 2018: Erotikaland will have a '7D' vibrating cinema, bumper cars shaped like genitalia and a nudist pool

  • Entry fee will be $100 and will give visitors access to an aphrodisiac store
  • Sex will not be allowed inside the park, but visitors can use nearby motels
  • One councillor warned that the park would lure 'debauched individuals'

Brazil is known for its scantily clad carnival dancers – but now entertainment in the country is set to become even steamier, thanks to an adults-only theme park called Erotikaland.

The developers hope that the park will be built near Piracicaba, about two hours’ drive from Sao Paulo, by 2018.

If it goes ahead, the park’s attractions will include a '7D' cinema with vibrating seats, bumper cars shaped like genitalia, a nudist pool and a ‘train of pleasure' staffed by gogo girls and boys.

The entry fee will be $100 and will also give visitors access to an aphrodisiac store, but sex inside the park will not be allowed.

Should visitors make a connection and want to become intimate they will be able to book into nearby motels, run by the park, The New York Times reported.

The nature of Erotikaland has perhaps inevitably drawn some criticism, with Matheus Erler, a Christian Socialist Party member and leader of the Piracicaba City Council, telling reporters ‘we cannot be known as the capital of sex’, according to the paper.

He added that he had concerns that the park would lure ‘debauched individuals’, an accusation the developers refuted.

Project leader Mr Matheus Erler said: ‘This won’t be a place for nuns, but it’s not like we’re trying to recreate Sodom and Gomorrah. If attendees want to take things to another level, they can go to a nearby motel - which we will operate.’

Mr Erler also pointed out that the park will create 250 jobs and promote safe sex.

Other bizarre parks around the world include BonBon-Land in Denmark, an X-rated theme park where you can ride on the Fart Dog Switchback, the Rubbish Dump and the Skid Mark roller-coaster, Pedroland, in South Carolina, based on a 1950s-era ethnic stereotype and The Holy Land Experience in Florida, which is based on the life and times of Jesus Christ.

There’s also the Shijingshan Amusement Park in Bejing, sometimes referred to as 'Fake Disney World', which was opened in 1986 and is packed with Disney-like characters seemingly without a care in the world about copyright infringement.

In 2007, after pressure from Disney World many of the characters were destroyed, but there are still many rides with a nod to Disney such as the Elephant Ride, which has a passing resemblance to Dumbo, and a main street called Dream European Street.
