Dioner Navarro and Austin Jackson had back-to-back triples to lead the Chicago White Sox past the Toronto Blue Jays 4-0 on Wednesday night.
Jose Quintana (3-1) struck out 10 with four hits over six innings for the White Sox (16-6), who have won six straight. Relievers Zach Duke, Nate Jones each pitched an inning for Chicago before closer David Robertson came in for the ninth.
Reigning American League MVP Josh Donaldson led Toronto's (10-13) offence with two hits, including a double.
Marco Estrada (1-2) pitched 6 2/3 innings for the Blue Jays, striking out five and giving up three runs on three hits. Jesse Chavez and Ryan Tepera came out of the bullpen for the Blue Jays.
Navarro broke a scoreless tie with two out in the seventh. The White Sox catcher hit a rare triple to right-centre field that almost bounced over the wall for a ground-rule double, but instead caromed off the lip of the fence and over the heads of Toronto outfielders Kevin Pillar and Jose Bautista.
That hit drove in Melky Cabrera and Brett Lawrie to give Chicago a 2-0 lead. It was Navarro's fifth triple in 13 seasons in Major League Baseball.
Estrada's night ended after that, with the 28,759 in attendance at Rogers Centre giving him a standing ovation as he walked off the field and Chavez took the mound.
Chavez gave up a triple to Jackson to almost the exact same spot in the outfield in the next at bat, cashing in Navarro and making it 3-0.
Blue Jays manager John Gibbons was ejected after the run scored as he argued with home plate umpire John Tumpane over his strike zone.
After Chavez walked Adam Eaton, Jimmy Rollins popped out to centre field to end the inning.
Chicago kept scoring in the eighth inning as Avisail Garcia hit a single off Tepera to drive in Jose Abreu for a 4-0 lead.
Both starting pitchers were dominant through the first six innings, keeping the game scoreless and the basepaths relatively clear.
Quintana got into some trouble in the fifth inning, with Ryan Goins reaching first on a force out to second and Donaldson following that up with a single two batters later. The White Sox starter got his second strikeout of the inning to end the threat, though.
Estrada was in a bit of a jam in the next inning, issuing back-to-back walks to Jackson and Eaton with only one out. But he bore down to strike out Rollins and induced a Abreu pop fly to end the inning.
In the bottom of the sixth, Eaton caught an Edwin Encarnacion line drive on the warning track, bouncing off the chain-link fence of the visitors' bullpen for the out.
