The Phoenix Suns have fired coach Jeff Hornacek, with the team mired in one of the worst stretches in franchise history.

A person with knowledge of the situation confirmed that Hornacek was dismissed after the team's 91-78 loss at Dallas on Sunday night. The person spoke on condition of anonymity Monday because the firing had not been announced.

Three assistant coaches were to be interviewed Monday to determine who would take over the team on an interim basis.

The Suns have lost 10 of 11 games and 19 of their last 21.
