Canada will be without one of its stars as the 2016 season begins. Montreal's Kaya Turski is still recovering from a broken arm suffered in practice in December.

With the eight-time X Games champion sidelined, Team Canada will pin its podium hopes on reigning Olympic slopestyle champion Dara Howell of Huntsville, Ont.

On the men's side, Canada will also be missing a key competitor. Last year's champion, Justin Dorey of Vernon, B.C., is out due to injury, but seven Canadian skiers — led by Taylor Wilson of Whistler, B.C. — will be gunning for gold.
