Click on the video player above to watch the FIS World Cup men's downhill from Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany live Saturday at 5:15 a.m. ET.
It could be a wide-open race with World Cup downhill leader Aksel Lund Svindal out for the season after suffering a knee injury in a crash at Kitzbuehel last week. Svindal won four of the five previous downhills this season and has a huge lead over Italy's Peter Fill in the standings.
Erik Guay, the 10th-ranked downhiller, is among the Canadian looking to take advantage of Svindal's absence.
Catch more coverage of the race on our Road to the Olympic Games show Saturday at 4 p.m. ET on CBCSports.ca and CBC Television.
