The National Hockey League postponed tonight's matchup between the Anaheim Ducks and Washington Capitals due to a massive snowstorm that is impacting the Washington area.
The game was due to start tonight at 5:00 p.m. ET. A makeup date has not been announced.
What was originally a 7:00 p.m. ET start time, the game was pushed up to 5:00 p.m. in anticipation of the storm.
The Capitals also play at home against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Sunday at 12:30 p.m. ET, but a decision will be made regarding that game on Saturday morning.
The National Basketball Association also postponed two games due to be held on Saturday because of the severe weather warnings.
The matchup that sees the Boston Celtics travel to meet the Philadelphia 76ers, where up to 45 centimetres of snow are forecast, has been shifted to Sunday at 7 p.m ET.
The game between the Utah Jazz and Washington Wizards in the U.S. capital, forecast to get up to 60 centimetres of snow, has not been rescheduled as of yet.
