Tuesday night's NHL schedule included appointments for five Canadian teams. Here's a quick look at how they fared:
Canadiens can't solve woes
The Montreal Canadiens started the All-star break on a very sour note, dropping their second consecutive 5-2 loss to the 30th-place Columbus Blue Jackets.
If that wasn't bad enough, the struggling squad saw their captain Max Pacioretty go down after taking P.K. Subban's slapshot to the face midway through the second period.
Pacioretty did not return.
No fun in the sun for Leafs
The Toronto Maple Leafs were no match for the Florida Panthers, losing 5-1 with their dads in attendance.
Fresh off signing a new six-year contract, Alexsander Barkov chipped in with a power-play goal for Florida.
Neither goalie was especially busy with both James Reimer and Roberto Luongo making 22 saves, however the Panthers made the most of their opportunities.
Rinne frustrates Canucks
Nashville Predators goalie Pekka Rinne stopped 28 of the 29 shots he faced to hold off the Vancouver Canucks for a 2-1 victory.
Brandon Sutter had the lone goal for the home team, who outshot Nashville 29-19.
Rookie leads Jets to victory
Nikolaj Ehlers recorded a hat trick and Dustin Byfuglien added a pair of goals to pace the Winnipeg Jets to a 5-2 win over the Arizona Coyotes.
Connor Hellebuyck made 32 saves in a winning effort.
Eichel victimizes Senators
Buffalo Sabres rookie Jack Eichel evened the score and went on to register the game-winner to help his team end a three-game skid in a 3-2 win over the Ottawa Senators.
Former Ottawa goaltender Robin Lehner made 34 saves for his first victory with his new club.
