It was a podium sweep for the German's at home in Koenigssee Friday at the world championships of luge in the men's sprint.
Felix Loch took gold, sliding to a 38.574-second finish ahead of compatriots Andi Langenham and Ralf Palik, who finished 0.22 seconds and 0.234 behind, respectively.
Loch is a two-time Olympic champion, winning the event at the 2010 Games in Vancouver and the 2014 Games in Sochi.
Canada's Mitchel Malyk of Calgary finished eighth, 0.452 seconds back, at 39.026.
Canada's top performers at the event were Tristian Walker and Justin Snith, who slid to a seventh-place result in the sprint doubles event. Their time was 39.6, 0.577 seconds back from the champions.
Tobias Wendl and Tobias Arlt won the doubles in 39.023. Peter Penz and Georg Fischler of Austria finished with the silver medal and Italy's team of Christian Oberstolz and Patrick Gruber took bronze.
Switzerland's Martina Kocher prevented a German sweep of the three golds, winning the women's sprint event. Her time of 39.451 was a narrow edge of just 0.035 over Germany's Natalie Geisenberger. Geisenberger's teammate Dajana Eitberger finished with the bronze.
Alex Gough of Calgary finished 10th with a 39.727 result.
