The world's best cities for good-value hotels

Cities were ranked according to the value of their hotels by Hotel Info, a booking website. Based on a rating given out of ten, that takes into account both reader reviews and average hotel prices, the top 12 cities whose hotels represent the best value for money are listed in reverse order:

12. Tokyo

Rating of 7.21

Tokyo is much cheaper to visit this year, with the Japanese capital recently named the third cheapest long haul destination for UK travellers in a Post Office Travel Money survey.

Its hotels offer great value too, coming 12th in this survey.
