Sandra Bullock has become a mother again after adopting a three and a half year old daughter named Laila.
In an interview with People magazine, the 51-year-old actress revealed her five-year-old son Louis was behind her decision to expand her family.
'Louis spearheaded this whole journey,' she said. 'I did remind him that it could be either a brother or a sister and that we would be so lucky to have either one. He did specify that he wanted a sibling who has some brown skin.'

Happy news: Sandra Bullock has confirmed she has become a mother again after adopting a three and a half year old baby girl called Laila (pronounced Lila)
Laila was adopted from the foster care system, and had been living with Sandra and Louis for some time before her placement was finalised.
'I can tell you absolutely, the exact right children came to me at the exact right time,' said Sandra.
'When I look at Laila, there's no doubt in my mind that she was supposed to be here.'
Laila, pronounced Lila, joins the family five years after Sandra became a single mother with the adoption of her son following his birth in New Orleans.
In her touching interview, Sandra reveals that she knew she was ready to adopt when her son told friends: 'I'm gonna have a baby soon. I don't know it's name yet, but it's coming.'
The devoted parent told the magazine the process felt very much like witness protection, fearing that the adoption would be jeopardised by the fact that she's a huge star.
She said: 'When I look at Laila, there's no doubt in my mind that she was supposed to be here' - this comes after Sandra previously denied having adopted the child

We just feel happy looking at this pink jumpsuit Sandra Bullock chose for the Our Brand Is Crisis press conference in Toronto.
We love the rosey hue, the onesie idea is on-trend as is the cut-out detail on the bodice, and we love the other feminine touches like the self fabric-covered belt at the waist. On the whole, the pantsuit is quite conservative, so Sandra kicked it up a notch with the pair of nude Christian Louboutins.
The jumpsuit is by Italian house Max Mara and made for the 51-year-old Oscar winner. So, bad news for us, we can't have this exact piece... even if we had the funds. However, you'll be happy to hear there are plenty of jumpsuits in the brand's current collection and if you click right, you can see the array.
Or, check out our gallery below. We found a pink jumpsuit at Missguided you can tie a variety of ways. And we discovered a supremely sexy version by Emilia Wickstead.
When Laila joined the family, Sandra took care to ensure she felt safe and secure following her disrupted early years, mentioning that her daughter sometimes hides away in the closet.
'I knew she was scared and all I wanted was for her to know Louis and I weren't going anywhere... once she felt safe that personality exploded. Seems stand-up comedy is in her future.'
Obviously besotted with her daughter, The Blind Side star talks of pink and glitter joining the Legos, and adds: 'In a sweet way she has reminded me how to be a girl again.'
One person who didn't need help adjusting to the new status quo was Louis, who now shares a bedroom with his Bruno Mars-obsessed new sibling.
'I think he was ready for her before she even arrived, and he knew exactly what to do as a big brother.'
'He forced me to get my s**t together': Sandra adopted son Louis Bardo back in 2010, and she recently confessed that he helped her to grow up
But despite their instant bond, the two are 'as different as night and day. Louis is the quiet watcher and doesn't need to be the showman. Laila is the performer.'
Now that she's a mother of two, the Oscar-winner has accepted that her career might take a back seat.
'I have a feeling car pool is winning out - and that's by choice right now,' Sandra stressed. 'I don't know how that balance will work out later on, to be honest. All I can do now is enjoy exactly where I am, and things will happen as they are supposed to.'
The adoption news comes after it was claimed that her new boyfriend, model and photographer Bryan Randall has 'moved into' her Beverly Hills home.
Going well, then: The news comes after it was claimed that her new boyfriend, model and photographer Bryan Randall has 'moved into' her Beverly Hills home
Sandra does not address him by name in her interview - however she does state that it would take 'someone quite extraordinary' and 'brave' to step into her world.
'I don't think so,' she answered, when asked if she could see herself marrying again.
But, she added: 'I can see myself in a committed, safe relationship where there is lots of love and laughter, and "making memories" is No 1 on the to-do list.
'My priorities are my children.'
RadarOnline.com previously reported that Sandra had a new infant daughter back in October, but the actress publicly denied the claim - as she had in fact only fostered Laila at this point.
Following reports that she had welcomed a baby into her home, she said 'everyone would be hearing about it,' had she done so.
However her carefully chosen words left the impression that an adoption would not be out of the question.
'If I had a second adopted child, everyone would be hearing about it. I would be loud and clear. And say, 'Yes, I have officially adopted a second child.' Right now, Louis must be it.'
Sandra adopted her son while she was going through her divorce with ex-husband Jesse James.
Former couple: Jesse James was at Sandra's side when she won an Oscar for her performance in The Blind Side in 2010. Three months later, the couple split after five years of marriage as a result of his cheating
She had been intending to adopt the baby boy with then-husband, but she filed for divorce that month and continued the process as a single parent.
And the kind-hearted star has admitted how much the little boy has changed her life and kept her in line and get her 's**t together'.
In Glamour magazine's recent November issue, the actress confessed: 'Well, I did some stupid things in college. Fact that I didn't wind up in jail: miracle. Miracle! So I'm grateful for that.
'But, you know, I don't feel like I was an adult till about five years ago,' she went on.
'I had to step back and go, 'I have the greatest gift in little Louis, and I'm gonna let him see the woman I want him to know.' So a child forces you to get your s**t together. In the best way.'
Growing family: The new issue of People magazine promises to share pictures from Sandra's family album, including shots of her son Louis and newly-adopted daughter Laila
