American star notches 16th win at Alberta venue

American star Lindsey Vonn won the season-opening World Cup downhill Friday in a one minute 50.5 seconds.
It was Vonn's 16th career victory at Lake Louise, Alta.
Cornelia Huetter of Austria was second in 1:51.08. Her teammate Ramona Siebenhofer was third, 1.07 seconds back of Vonn.
Larisa Yurkiw, of Owen Sound, Ont., finished in 12th place, 1.94 behind Vonn.
All of the Lake Louise races can be seen live on CBCSports.ca. Saturday's downhill starts at 2:30 pm. MT / 2:30 p.m. E while coverage of Sunday's super-G begins at 10:45 a.m. MT / 12:45 p.m. ET.
