Olympic rower had interim tag since Aubut's resignation

The Canadian Olympic Committee has chosen four-time Olympian Tricia Smith as its new president.
She was named the COC's interim president when Marcel Aubut stepped down on Oct. 3, and will finish his term, which ends April 2017.
Upon her election Smith said, "It's an honour I accept with pride and gratitude at a time when the eyes of the country are upon us."
Members of Team Canada past and present tweet their support for the newly elected president.
Fellow order of Canada recipient and five-time Olympian in athletics Charmaine Crooks tweeted her support.
